City Tavern

city tavern is by far one of the best bars to go to in downtown dallas. they are a true down to earth bar amidst a plethora of super pretentious clubs that line main street dallas. i worked with the owner josh to create some t-shirts that reflected the bar and the history of dallas.

Dark Knight / Nokia (1)

as a comic dork, i was honored to be able to work on pieces for this cross over. this was the back of a playing card that would work as a promotional device that you could text in to win. my clients, unfortunately, had a problem with the joker holding a knife so i hid it behind the shattering batman logo.

TracyLocke Summer Internship

being an intern is all about gaining real world (as much as i hate that expression) experience. this was a visual way of showing that you are ripe for the picking when you're done with your internship at the agency.

Assassination City Rollerderby

i was lucky enough in dallas to work on posters for the rollerderby girls. this is a poster for a party before one of the bouts. one thing that i love about this sport is how hardcore these women are but still maintain that sex appeal. i tried to convey that in this poster.

MillerCoors History

i was lucky enough to work on a video for MillerCoors. it describes the almost mirror images of Frederick Miller's and Adolf Coors' lives. thanks to thomas daniels, the story really brings it home.

MLKing & the Juniors (2)

second show poster for the band. was diggin the whole super 80's colors schemes. it would seem that mlking & the juniors was more of an poppy, 80's, retro band (which they aren't) so i guess this isn't as successful. but mads still dug it so it was made. *side note: im saying dug and dig alot...

MLKing & the Juniors

one of the best band names of all time. this is one of the first posters i did for madison king, when she preforms with a full band. created the logotype and have been doing little tweaks with each following poster. made for the possibility of a simple 4 color screen print, but turned out to be digital printing.

Lewis & Lewis Ink

poster for a friend, katie lewis', band. its a brother and sister gig and they play alot of johnny cash covers. so i thought it would be cool to show them as johnny and june when they were kids, so they don't look like they're married but related. although, looking at it now, it could come across as they were always destined to be together since they were children... awkward.

Love Trek

never been a trekkie, really.... i know its hard to believe. but there is something every iconic about the whole thing and wanted to do more portraits and see how they would look in just simple 2 colors.

#8 The Ahoy Gazette Vol1

First playlist over of the ahoy gazette. love the old illustration and the dudes in top hats from the good ol' days. so i matched the illustration with a fitting type treatment.

#7 The Edge

i went through this phase of really diggin' 80's skate photos. so i drew this one from an amalgamation of several old school pics i found. we really need to bring this back.

#6 The Ahoy Gazette Vol2

so i make alot of playlists and started making covers for them. i decided, after a while, that it would be cool if they all fell under one banner. this is how the ahoy gazette got started. this one, for some reason, is in a dvd case layout.

#5 Madison King @ City Tavern

had this idea of doing a james dean skeletor, and luckily Mads lets me do some crazy shit for her posters. being dean, it needed a certain level of badassness so i added the motorcycle gang at the bottom.

#4 true romance

in the vein of natural born killers and true romance. its love til the bitter end.

The Scream

i was trying something different with this piece. going for more detailed shaded center with looser edges and little shading. i wanted to do a drawing that reminded me of sam raimi's early work, most of which have a woman with an amazing scream.

Hold On

found image... there was some story about whats going on, but i dont remember it.

dallasites

my first post on this thing... yay blogs. as many of you know... because if you're reading this you're probably my friend or know me in some way... i always disliked the generic, faceless, dallasy girls that populate the metroplex. so, this is my tribute to them.
